“Rash Behari Bose was born: 25 May 1886 Death: 21 January 1945)”India was a Revolutionary leader who worked with Ghadar conspiracy and organization of the Azad Hind Fauj against the British Raj.

Rash Behari Bose: The Legacy of a Revolutionary

He not only played an important role in conducting many revolutionary activities in India but staying abroad also engaged in lifelong efforts to give India freedom. In Delhi, Rash Behari Bose played an important role in planning the bombing of the then viceroy Charles Charles Harding, and plotting Gadar’s conspiracy, and later in Japan to establish the Indian Independence League and the Azad Hind Fauj.

Though these efforts to make the country independent are not successful, the  importance of his role in freedom struggle is very high.Rash Behari Bose was born on May 25, 1886, at Zubaydah village in Bardhaman district in Bengal. His early education took place in Chandanagar, where his father Vinod Bihari Bose was appointed.

Rash Behari Bose used to dream of country’s independence from his childhood and was deeply interested in revolutionary activities. Initially, Rasbihari Bose worked as Head Clerk for some time at Dehradun Forest Research Institute.

At the same time, his revolutionary Jatin Mukherjee led the revolutionary organization called Amarendra Chatterjee, and he joined Bengal revolutionaries. Later, when he came in contact with Jatindranath Banerjee, aka Nirlambamb Swami, a political disciple of Aurobindo Ghosh, came to the United Provinces (present-day Uttar Pradesh) and the main Arya Samajis revolutionaries of Punjab.

Rash Behari had a major role in planning a bomb to Viceroy Lord Hardinge on the eve of his voyage of Lord Hardinge in Delhi after the Delhi Durbar of George V on 12 December 1911 in Delhi. Basant Kumar Vishwas, a disciple of Amarendra Chatterjee, threw a bomb at him but missed the target.

After this the British police got behind Rash Behari Bose, and to avoid it, he drove away from Dehradun by train in the night and started working like this in the office as if nothing had happened. The next day he called a gathering of the citizens of Dehradun, in which he also condemned the attack on Viceroy. In this way, there was no doubt that the chief conspirator of this conspiracy and caste had to do so.

During the flood relief work in Bengal in 1913, Rash Behari Bose came in contact with Jatin Mukherjee, who worked to fill the new zeal in them. After Rash Behari Bose, again, with double enthusiasm, he got involved in the activities of revolutionary activities. To make India free, he planned Gadar during World War I. In February 1915, an attempt was made to infiltrate the army of many trusted revolutionaries.
